Well-known and experienced Atlanta litigators, Steve Sparwath and Burt Satcher, joined OGEJS as partners as of July 1, 2007, when the Sparwath & Satcher firm merged into Owen, Gleaton, Egan, Jones & Sweeney, LLP.
Steve Sparwath’s litigation practice includes experience in professional liability, products liability, general personal injury defense, premises liability and employment law. For the past 20 years, Mr. Sparwath has been principally involved in the defense of physicians, medical care providers, and hospitals in medical and general liability cases. Mr. Sparwath received his undergraduate degree from Emory University (B.A. 1983) and his law degree from the Catholic University School of Law (J.D. 1986).
Burt Satcher’s civil litigation practice includes experience in professional liability, general personal injury liability, products liability, and insurance coverage matters. Mr. Satcher began his practice in Georgia in 1985 and principally has been involved in the representation of healthcare providers and defense of a wide variety of general liability cases since 1988. Mr. Satcher was born and raised in Georgia, achieved his undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (B.A. 1982) and then obtained his law degree from the University of Georgia (J.D. 1985). Burt Satcher served as President of the Atlanta Council of Younger Lawyers in 1995.
Both Messrs. Sparwath and Satcher began their law careers in the Atlanta firm of Long, Weinberg, Ansley & Wheeler. They have practiced together for the past eight years in East Cobb County.
