Partner, Philippa Ellis, has been recognized for her extensive jury trial expertise with a recent American Bar Association (ABA) appointment. She will serve as 2018 Director-Elect for the ABA Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section (TIPS)/American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) National Trial Academy. The ABA-TIPS/ABOTA National Trial Academy, held at the National Judicial College in Reno, NV, is affectionately called the country’s top “Boot Camp for Lawyers”.
Additionally, Philippa has been appointed to ABA's National Trial Academy Standing Committee for the 2017-18 fiscal year. This leadership appointment was made in recognition of her commitment to TIPS and reputation among its 20,000 TIPS members.
Philippa has also earned a State Bar of Georgia leadership appointment to serve on the 2017-18 Statewide Judicial Evaluation Committee (SJEC). The SJEC is tasked with vetting judicial candidates, on behalf of the State Bar of Georgia membership, for gubernatorial appointment recommendations.
