Philippa Ellis has been appointed to serve as Vice Chair of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) Public Policy Committee and as a member of the DRI Jury Preservation Task Force and Membership Committees for the 2011-2012 term. Ellis was also appointed as Program Director for the 2011 National Institute for Trial Advocacy’s Deposition Skills Program in Atlanta.

On December 15, Roger Harris and Shannon Shipley Hinson earned another defense verdict for a firm client. The nearly two week jury trial was presided over by Judge Susan E. Edlein of the Fulton County State Court. The medical negligence case alleged failures on the part of several defendant physicians, but the jury took less than an hour to decide there was no violation of the standard of care. “We had good clients who provided good care,” said Harris of the win.
